HD DVDs and Blu-ray disks both reproduce movie sound tracks via seven full channels plus a sub woofer channel for bass tones.As a result ,the quality of sound reproduced is said to surpass that found in most cinema houses.
While both formats are competing with each other for domination in the market,more than 170 companies have joined the Blu-ray Disc association.And there is Advanced Optical Disc Consortium comprising Toshiba,NEC,Microsoft,Intel,IBM and Time Warner,which is also supporting the HD DVD againt the competing Blu-ray group.
