Plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery is the medical process focused on to the repair and correction of form, function or look of a particular organ. Now a days cosmetic surgery is used widely for different kinds of patients, from accident victims to celebrities trying to have a bit more better look. The word “plastic” in the term is derived from Greek word “plastikos”, which means “to mold or to shape”. Some people get confused by feeling that plastic is used in the procedure. There is, in fact no relation with the “plastic” we see now and the surgery.

There are many type of cosmetic/aesthetic procedures followed today. The ‘Abdominoplasty’ or ‘Tummy Tuck’ is one example. Tummy Tuck is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to make the abdomen stronger. Main part of this surgery is to remove the excess fat and skin from the lower and middle abdomen. Due to the modern life style, many people don’t have enough or any time to take exercises.The result is fat deposition in the abdomen. For such peoples the tummy tuck is an effective remedy. But there are some inconveniences with it too. The patient has to take rest for at least two weeks. There may be itching and other discomforts in the initial days after the surgery. It will take 6 to 12 months for the scars to disappear completely .Also the surgery is costly, taking $4000 to $20000 depending on the case and of course hospital.
