A tiny wireless data chip developed by Hewlett Packard (HP) could be stuck on or embedded in almost any object and make available information and content now found mostly on electronic devices or the Internet.

The chip developed by the Memory Spot research team at HP Labs is a memory device based on CMOS design and about the size of a grain of rice or smaller.It incorporates a built in antenna and is completely self contained no need for battery and external electronics .The chip can transfer data at a rate of 10Mbps.Some applications include storing medical records on a patients wrist band,providing audio visual supplements,security,identity etc.
